Saturday Photo Hunt - Salty

The theme for this weeks Scavenger Hunt is Salty. So for this week I will show you something that I have mentioned in some of my post. Li Hing Mui powder. alot of things in Hawai’i is seasoned with this. Candies, fruits, dried preserves, even alcohol drinks. And I also have some pa’akai(hawai’ian sea salt). We in Hawai’i use this alot to cook with and to season our food, instead of regular table salt. Especially in our raw food like poke, opihi, tako, etc. And also the beach. Our Pacific Ocean is very salty. I have no idea what the ocean is like in other places, but Hawai’i waters are very salty. And we have salt flats where they make pa’akai. My aunt on Molokai use to gather her own pa’akai.
