Hawai’i has suffered a great lost. Aunty Genoa Keawe passed away yesterday morning in her sleep. She was 89 years of age. She lived a full and beautiful life. She went peacefully and now has joined our Lord in Heaven. She brought happiness to all those who knew her. I remember listening to her sing when I was a child at some of our family parties. I remember her and Aunty Lena Machado when they came to Moloka’i and played music for us at the canoe shack. I was a child and loved their sweet voices. She was a legend in Hawai’ian nusic and will always be remembered by all. Rest in Peace Aunty. Now you and Charley can kanikapila together again. This time on the biggest stage in God’s great Kingdom of Heaven.  Aloha no, Aunty. I will always love you.
