A Which stands for the Almighty God who watches over us

M Is for the Many, many brave men and women who have given
their lives on the battle fields ofthe world. Even in space so
that we today, of all nations are still free.

E She is Ever ready to heed the call of the meek and hungry
throughout the 4 corners of God’s great world.

R Is the Rights, simple as they are - Free worship, free speech,
Rights too numerous to mention. Even the Right to oppose as
they are doing on the street corners of our country
today. And last, but not least, the one God given Right that
no man can take away….our birth right: the
Right to be Free.

I To me, I stands for Insurance. She offers safety and protection
to any nation throughout the world, that is ever threatened by
an aggressor.

C Is for the beautiful Colors : Bloody Red, Pure White, and
Heavenly Blue. Just like our people, not one color but a
mixture in his own image…..He too is like Old Glory…..
Red, White, and Blue.

A Thus ending with the letter “a”, which forms the great word
America. All I can ever hope and pray for is: ” God save the Kingdom
of brotherly love, and guide mankind to the everlasting light of
peace.”

A TRIBUTE TO THE FALLEN

I would like to take the time to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for this country.

To all the brave men and women who fought in all our wars …..thank you.
US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. All of you who lost your lives so that we may live in a place that we call home. And especially our homeboys from Hawaii. Many have left back mothers and fathers, wives, husbands and children. You gave your life believing in a cause. A cause in which not all humans have agreed upon, but have shared the pain and sorrow of it all.

And to all those who have perished from the 9/11 tragedy, we shared the lost from near and far. A devastating day that shook the world. We salute you on this day that we pay tribute to all who are gone, but not forgotten.

All of our law enforcement and firefighters that have lost their lives in the line of duty, I salute you.

Like the words from the Bette Midler song……”Did I ever tell you, you’re my hero”. You are the heroes of a great Nation. “The land of the free and the home of the brave.” But sadly, a nation divided in beliefs. We have the poor, the hungry, the old, the young, the rich, the powerful. If only we could all live in peace and harmony and love one another without any discrimination and fighting amongst our own, this would be a much happier place to live in.

God bless each and every one of you on this Memorial Day, May 30, 2005.

Disturbing News

Hey all you bloggers, go on over to WiRed’s and check it out. Some kind words would be real nice.

Her Uncle Mark’s place was broken into last night. The police told them that they couldn’t do anything cause the uncle was unavailable. I mean hey, the house is on the same property as theirs, so WTF? What if they come back and try to get into Wired’s house? :(

I won’t go into how lame some of our so called city employees are right now, because I would like to please ask you to pay her a visit. Thank you my friends.

My Sunday

Those of you who don’t know religion or shun it do not have to read this, but this is something I need to get out because I felt the joy of it all.

Well, as you all know our eldest son is here on a short business/vacation. He and his wife Connie are here to see if it is time for them to come back to roots, and make a home here in Hawaii once again.

He is a Pastor, so we went to church with him on Sunday. I haven’t been to church in several months maybe a year. A long, long time and wasn’t sure how comfortable I would be. I wanted my husband to go and see his eldest in his true calling. It was very uplifting and made me feel good. It made me realize that I really do miss going to church.

My son was asked to give a sermon and praise the Lord, he did an awesome job! It really is his true calling. It made my husband very happy to see his son follow in his great-grandfather’s footstep. It really touched his heart and brought a little tear to his eye. This is what made me the most happiest.

My husband is not a well man, and has not been in church for a long time. He strayed from the church cause as a child it was forced upon him. But taking him to church on Sunday made my heart feel good, and being there I knew I did the right thing. I felt the spirit of the Lord touch my heart and touch his.

And I hope through God’s will, my son and daughter-in-law will come home to roots. And hope maybe someday the rest of them who are far away can do so too. I miss my children and grandchildren alot. They don’t have to come home to live again, but it would be nice to have every single child with the Bent blood flowing through their vein come together just once more. This would be the greatest joy my husband could ever have. It would be worth more than anyone could imagine.

And with this, I would like to say “thank you Jesus” for touching my husband yesterday.

The Eldest

First of all I would like to welcome home my son Charles Kahaealohaulaokalani Bent Jr. also known as CK. He is here for a visit and to see if it is time for he and my daughter- in-law Connie to come home to stay. The children are all grown and on their own, so they have an opportunity to come home and do God’s work. Yes, my son and his wife are pastors. They are now being offered an opportunity to come back to the islands, which I’m hoping they’ll take.

He is also a talented singer and musician like his sister Priss. In fact, there are 5 siblings who can sing up a storm and perform. The true musician who plays a bunch of different instruments and has his own recording studio at home is Jimmy. Then there’s CK who’s blows a mean harmonica. Next is Tita (she’s a Connie too) who does some keyboard, and sing too. They all sing! There’s Priss who can play keyboard, clarinet and a little percussion, and last but not least is the Uku. She can’t play any musical instrument, but like Priss she can wail! And then there’s my grandson Nate who can also sing. He is like Priss and loves Jazz and Swing.

I would love to see the 5 siblings and my grandson come together one day and play and sing together. At least 1 time in my and my husbands lifetime. I think that would be one of the greatest gift I could have. :) No money in the world would be able to top that. I’m not saying I don’t need money cause we all do. But this is something that I feel deep within my soul. And Jimmy, I hope you can hear me, son.
