Having A Good Day!

I’d like to thank BTude & DB for a nice relaxing afternoon, yesterday. Kamalani and I had a great time! I’m sorry that Becky had trouble with her car and couldn’t make it. Poor thing has had a rough week.

Charley and I would like to thank them for the Hawaiian CD’s that they bought for him to listen to while hospitalized. That was so sweet and thoughtful. They have become truly good friends of our family and we love them dearly. They have been greatly supportive of us from the day my dear husband became ill, and I cannot express how much it means to have them here.

We had a nice time walking down the street from the hospital and going to the Youth Day Festival that the City & County had for all the keikis. Kamalani of course was esctatic cause she got to ride the carousel and watch the kids do some tumbling exhibition. BTude took some great pictures of her and Mr. DB. It was a fun filled day that took the kid and I away from our daily routine to partake in a different activity.

And also, thank you for the lunch. We went to the cafeteria at the hospital and Kamalani insisted that I sit with Uncle Doyle so that she could sit with Aunty Chris. Such a little Wench who thinks she controls everything! But what would I do without my Opihi!

Charley is doing well and has been doing 8 to 10 hours off the ventilator each day. He had some ice cream on Friday which made him very happy. He keeps asking for coffee but cannot have liquid right now, it has to be thick like nectar or milkshake. He has improved so much since being at Select Specialty Hospital. They are going to try puree food next, so I bought some jars of baby food being that it has all the nutrients in it already. He loves having visitors cause he gets lonely. One of his Army buddies went to see him on Friday. He was in the Rangers with Charley.

I thank God everyday for giving me my husband and father of my 10 children back. He’s not a 100%, but he is doing as well as can be expected for a 72 year old man who has gone thru what he has. Thank you, Jesus!

And I thank all my special friends and family in blogland for the support you have given us through the last 2 months. I love you all! Take care everyone.
